“Cicada” (2019), is an original lithographic print with hand-coloring. It was created by using a “mezzotint” technique, where the image is drawn reductively by bringing highlights out from a black background. The image is developed by scraping and using deletion tools to remove layers of tone from a black printing base.
The image was printed from one stone in an edition of 11. The image size is 8 x 11 ¾ inches. It was printed on Japanese Kitakata cream paper, torn to 10 ½ x 11 ¼ inches.
